Scones 101

Have you been into the Mixing Bowl and tried one of our fresh scones?

“A scone is a British baked good, usually made of wheat, or oatmeal with baking powder as a leavening agent and baked on sheet pans.

A scone is often slightly sweetened and occasionally glazed with egg wash.[1]The scone is a basic component of the cream tea. It differs from teacakes and other types of sweets that are made with yeast.” (Wikipedia)

At the Mixing Bowl we often have a variety of scones with fresh berries or seasonal flavors! Scones are perfect for someone who loves a breakfast pastry with a cup of coffee but might not want something as sugary as a donut or cinnamon roll!

We’d love to know what your favorite scone from the bakery is!
